Create a hostname
You'll receive its updater token immediately after creating it.
Your updater token
Copy this token now. It is shown only when created or replaced. If you lose it, generate a new one from your hostname's Manage controls.
Connect your Mac updater
- Download the Mac updater and extract it.
- In Terminal, open the extracted folder and run the command below.
- Enter the hostname shown above, then paste this token into the hidden prompt. The installer validates it before starting updates.
python3 mac/install.py --token-storage file
For a Mac running without a desktop login, use the boot-time service:
sudo python3 mac/install.py --token-storage file --service system
Return here to confirm your first update and public IP address.
Device setup
Your updater runs every five minutes. A hostname's update token authorizes that hostname only. Generate a replacement or revoke updates whenever needed.
